The choice of champions
With elite engineering expertise, the finest materials, plus detailed design input from 5-times World Champion Alan Scotthorneand comercial fishery expert Steve Ringer, Shimano poles are designed to meet the needs of the modern day match angler. No gimmicks - just the perfect blend of strength, balance and performance throughout the range.
Shimano Invention
Aero-Joint
Throughout the application of a unique high grade of carbon - lighter yet more resistant to wear and tear than woven material - Aero Joint will boost your speed of unshipping and decrease the chances of damage in this all-important area of your pole.
Gen X
The Gen X Concept is the result of more than three years of intense research into the perfect design for the taper and shape of the pole. This new design offers a range of poles that make fishing past 16m a reality, with the precise balance between stiffness, weight and low diameter. Gen X poles result inlighter, stiffer poles than those offered by the competition, giving Shimano designers room to strengthen number 4 and 5 sections to way above the normal requirements - something that has to be proven to be a problem for our competitors. The Aspire Ultra, Fireblood and Super Ultegraare all produced on the Gen X mandrel meaning that all sections will interchange, and a large range of affordable generic spares are now available to fit each pole. The design of the match top 3's incorporatesa very short, telescopic larger bore number 1 section which when removed will fit an internal bush and the heaviest elastic available. This results in longer fishing lengths and performance better than the rest.
Ultra Sound Sanding System
Available on the majority of Shimano poles, this unique process results in a finish that is silky smooth, for almost frictionless shipping and unshipping in both hot and wet conditions. It also provides great grip for breaking down sections and playing fish.
Shimano Alignment System
Shimano Alignment System (S.A.S) is a system to get the best out of a pole's action. During production, the backbone of each section is found and marked. When assembled correctly you get a set up which gives you the stiffest and best possible alignment. |
